Cybersecurity & Ethical Hacking Fundamentals
An introductory defensive-first project track covering networking, Linux, OWASP Top 10 concepts, and authorized lab-only assessment with Nmap, Burp Suite, and Kali tooling.
A real sequence, not a playlist
Six numbered weeks. Every week ends in a deliverable a reviewer actually checks — plan roughly twenty focused hours per week.
Course workspace: 23 lessons · 11 reads · 6 checkpoints · 6 reviewed builds
- 01~20h effort
Week 1 · Networks, Linux & Lab Safety
- —TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP request-response anatomy
- —Linux command line, permissions, and log reading
- —Authorization scope: lab-only targets and written rules
Deliverable: Lab setup log plus signed scope-of-testing notes
- 02~20h effort
Week 2 · Web Attack Surface (OWASP Concepts)
- —Injection, broken access control, and XSS concepts
- —Reading requests and responses like an attacker
- —Documenting findings without exploiting beyond scope
Deliverable: Findings notes on an intentional lab target
- 03~20h effort
Week 3 · Enumeration with Nmap

- —Writing a scan report with scope and timestamps
Deliverable: Authorized scan report on a lab host
- 04~20h effort
Week 4 · Interception with Burp Suite
- —Proxy setup, request interception, and Repeater use
- —Session handling and parameter-tampering concepts

Deliverable: Hardening checklist with retest evidence
- 06~20h effort
Week 6 · Final Project Review
- —Project reflection on offensive vs defensive choices
- —Completion review against the published rubric
- —Training-completion record when requirements are met
Deliverable: Final project submission
What you actually build
No copy-paste tutorials or toy repos. Every enrolled student submits a production-grade portfolio project evaluated against an industry rubric.
Lab-Authorized Vulnerability Assessment & Hardening Report
Defensive-first security project on intentional lab targets: scoped Nmap enumeration, Burp Suite interception analysis, and a retested hardening checklist.
Portfolio Deliverables Checked by Reviewers
Checked by named reviewers
Reviewers are named at cohort start and published with the batch. They check every submission against the rubric — passing names appear on the certificate.
- Every submission checked against a published academic and technical rubric
- One fair remediation attempt if a deliverable falls short of acceptance threshold
- No certificate without passing code checks — payment never substitutes genuine review
- Cryptographic verification QR permanently linked to your individual submission records
